OK OK..now that I dah gatal-gatal sangat volunteer nak buat newsletter for this M@alaya punya association kat sini kan? Bendanya pun dah siap. They all seem to like it. So Mr. Fath, the president, hari tu call, and asked me to be in the team itself. Bukan dok buat kerja volunteer aje. Kiranya kena diberi responsibilitylah. Tak boleh nak buat kerja sorok tangan lagi.
Since I pun suka sangat menyusahkan diri, I agreed. :D. To the annoyance of lover sebenarnya. Aik! I guess dah tujuh bulan dia tengok I terperap kan, tengok I sibuk balik di luar would be difficult. Hmmmm
So I went to the the first meeting the other day. Semuanya jantan committe member tu. Aku sorang aje tino. Rose among the thorn kata omputeh. To tell you the truth, I do not know most of them. Over here, I rarely talk to the guys. When we have makan-makan at someone's house, yang tino duduk satu tempat, yang jantan duduk tempat lain.
I am fine working with the guys. In my line of work (dulu) are all-man world. And we usually are buddies anyway. Yang about my age I would usually ber aku-engkau aje. Slightly older I would call them by their first name but refer to myself as aku. Some do not like this aku-engkau as kata ganti diri and maintain I-you. Kekadang tu naik berputar-putar lidah when I talk to all of them in the group. Pandang dia ni aku-engko, pandang dia ni I-you.
In the committe gang yang muda mudi tu I hope to aku-engkau with them soon.
But most of these guys are older than me. Way older. Now kalau masa kerja dulu, they would be the level of my bosses. I am a conservative, traditional, bersopan-santun, budi-bahasa yang tinggi dan halus. I would never call them by their first name. I refer to myself as saya.
Hmm takkan I nak panggil dia orang ni Encik-encik pulak. Macam formallah gitu. If it were their wives, I would happily call them kakak. But but but..takkan I nak panggil dia orang ni ABANG kot???? Bak kata jill..cringe oh cringe.
Adusssss sungguh tak rela aku memanggil mereka abang. So manja manja gitu. Oh hilanglah sifat keprofessionalan yang aku cuba tampilkan. And aku pasti dia org pun tak sanggup aku panggil dia orang abang. Apa tah lagi bini-bini mereka.
Panggil pakcik macam peliklah pulak. My anak call them uncle.
At the moment, I am not calling them anything. I think it is the very the likely that I would call them by their first name. Susah for me to do it bcos of the sifat budi bahasa ku yang tinggi tu. But abang? Oh tidakk
Contohnya,
"Makcik! kalau agak-agak makcik tak geti bawak kereta, duduk rumah jelah. Jaga cucu!"
"Tolong!! Pakcik gatal!"
Nyeh nyeh nyeh.

I've the same problem when dealing with guys at work place - yg lwn ckp omputeh tu senang je I-You-I-You tapi yg Malays takkan 'abang'(Nanti kata kita yg single ni getik lak! Since Encik sound so formal..)? So, have to be a bit rude n simply get my point across without any endearment - heheheh!
Lollies, hehehe..susah jugak kan nak panggil apa. Kadang2 ada ynag suka panggil abang /kakak as you said menghormati yg lebih tua. During BBQ last weekend, ada sorang tu called me kakak. I knew that he is same age with me. Almost tersedak. Tapi I OK sajalah..
If I were you, those in yr committee tu panggil "Cik" dulu lah. Once dah get use to them & comfortable then boleh tukar panggil nama ...
Will be in touch kay!
at work....call me idham, mr idham, encik idham, boss, anything but abang or sayang.....*wink*
mana yg TERpanggil abang or darling kat tempat kerja tu saja cari pasal la tu...hehehe...
out of work, I expect nothing less than abang darling from all gorjess out there!
Cuma BTB je buleh panggil saya abe ( tanpa darling ).
urs,
idham.
Loll : I deal with a lot of ppl. Aku belasah ajer ikot hati bila address diaorang. Kenkadang yang pakai kopiah, aku panggey "Ji..". Kengkadang tuu Tuan, kengkadang ngko. Kengkadang in one conversations bercampur-campur you, I, aku, ngko, kwan, boss, haji, datok, awak ..
Mmm lantakla.
That can be an ice breaker intro too.
lolls, when i was abroad working. everyone right up from the GM to the lowest lowest are referred by their names. diaorg biler cakap ngan kiter pun pakai namer jer..tkder mr, mrs ker aper keee.. so biler balik sini tergeliat lidah..so maner yg i agak 40 and above aku panggil la abang ker kakak ker. takder la nampak kureng ajo noo.. tapi ni utk staff rank n file..yg samer level sumer are referred by name and sometimes add mr jer kat depan..
rad - in work place it is easier to call them encik. I prefer formal with the older ones. Nampak proffessional dan mengurangkan kegatalan sekiranya ada. He he
AM - nak panggil encik jugakka disini? Saya lihat bagaimana.
idham - nasib baik saya tak gorjess so I can call you Idham.:D. BTB panggil you abe ke? errrkkk
TJ - Jantan dengan jantan senang wei. Tino ni susah sikit. Ko panggil orang tua jantan pun ok lagi. Unless disertakan saya tulen bangg..yang tu beratlah.
uglybutt - omputeh mmg lagi senang. dia org bab bab ni tak halus. eh ko kerja mana eh?
oooohhh... i wonder what they (the other guys) would be calling you.... if call your real name (yg shortened version) like very the manja gitu kan? hee hee
i addressed most of my first timer subject wif akak or abg regardless of how young or old they look. it's way easier for me dat way.
if it is u tho, i might as well call u mummy like i always do here. huhu.
famy - eh manja ke nama tu? memang itulah yang depa panggil. otherwise eh engko. ataupun ita karman. amendale
wan - easier for orang jantan. say sungguh concious dengan term abang. u can call me mummy anytime son
eh TJ silap tulislah. it shud go like this "You panggil orang tua ABANG pun ok lagi. Unless disertakan saya tulen bangg..yang tu beratlah."
Lollies : Like you I pun geli nak panggil orang Abang. I had a tough time memperbetulkan lidah I yang terpele'ot nak biasa kan panggil my ex abang dulu ( now ikutkan hati nak panggil oi ajer ;-) )
Having said that - true in a non Malay environment - senang pakai first name ajer.
I rasa you can start by addressing them as Che' Mat, Che' Leman, Che' Bidin for example without sounding too formal lah kot?
- in a matter-of-factly tone, not in the gedik-gedik manner. Bang Atan, Bang Sahak etc.... LOL !
Salam perkenalan..
To make things easier, and jaga muka the other party, I always bahasakan myself as Akak. To address, yg nampak muda sikit call diaorang Dik, yang agak2 dewasa sikit tu, Cik / Che (boleh untuk short for Pakcik, Makcik, Ms or Mr). Kalau nak panggil Bang tu...err, no komen.
mak andeh - susah kan nak panggil abang. dengan malunya saya kata..saya tak panggil lover abang.
saya akan cuba try nasihat itu.
adah - selamat datang. sila sila minum air mango lassi. saya buat sendiri ni. :D kat sini rata2 I among yang muda. dalam committe tu dah pastilah.
*cringe oh cringe*
next entry please.
saya pun dgn tak malunya, tak panggil mr boss abang. adik-adik dia panggil dia abang. how can i call him abang?
so zaman bercinta panggil ****, now dah jadik ah bey(rhymes with bay. sounds a bit like abe, so kalau orang tua dengar pun tak la geli geleman. jgn besok2 jadik oi sudah.kah kah kah!
Sama!!!Kalau dah kenaitu bolehle aku engkau...Kalau kita works professionally and niat kita baik.ok kot.Cumanya takut the other side yang berlebih pulak ingat kita ni menggatal. To be safe call them, cik rahman, cik roslan,it sounded proffesional yet maintaining sopan santun.
jill - patutkah aku panggil mereka abang jill. tell me please..:D
nazrah - tolong cerita kepada kami apakah itu ****?. :D
easylady - selamat ek gitu? serta berbudi bahasa.
Adik BTB? ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
OPOCOT mak ko!!
alamak ketawa kuat sangat sampai terjatuh!
