Ramadhan Shahrul Quran

Subhanallah! Ramadhan is coming very soon. May Allah prolong our age so we can meet Ramadhan again. Our youth (ya ka youth?), our health is not a guarantee of life even a second from now.

And if we sincerely make niyah of wanting to fulfil our time this coming ramadhan with ibadah, and yet we are prevented from doing so, Allah is Most merciful, we would still have the reward of the niyah.

One way to realise this niyah is by making plans for this Ramadhan. Let's make plans to increase our ibadah for this coming holy month. And one of the iabadah that we can and MUST make is the quran.

Ramadhan shahrul Quran.
Ramadhan is the month of Quran.

Let's make plans to how we can fulfill this holy month with the Quran. After discussion with the kids, we came up a suitable plan for each of them. They are of different age and thus different capabilities and different level in terms of the eloquence and understanding of reading.

Same goes to all of us. If you wish to strengthen your memorisation of the quran, you may do so either by increasing the quantity or revising the past memorised ones.

You can also follow the rule of minimum four pages reading per solatul fard to finish the quran by the end of Ramadhan. My advise is, when you have the time to read more, do so for the contingecy times.

For the younger ones or the new to quran, you can set the number of pages or verses.

Or make a change, read the translation and also the tafseer of the ayat. You can get the ibn Kathir tafseer HERE.. Can also look up to the common words in the Quran. I wrotes some tips HERE. May it help you.

I am asking Haziq to write up an action plan to what he wants to achieve. I asked him to look at known distractions like traveling to Malaysia, travelling within Malaysia, possible berbuka with friends. So he can tell how much more he needs to put his efforts during his free time.

I am making log sheets for Sya and Jack just to keep track of their schedule. Can be used as a reward proof later. *winks*

Have a plan. Set a goal or goals to live quran in this holy month. At normal time reciting just one letter in the quran earns us 10 hasanat. What more in the month of Ramadhan. As usual goals have to be realistic but yet challenging. May Allah make it easy for all of us.

I think spending sometime with the quran is doable, whether you are a working mom or dad, or a student with an important exam coming. Whoever you are and whatever you are doinf. If you take a short step to get closer to Allah, Allah will run towards you. Surely we want our ramadhan at this increased age better than the years before. A verse? Maybe two. Perhaps a page. At least listening to them.

And when the Quran is recited, listen to it with attention, that you may receive Mercy.” [Al Aaraf 7:204]

Perhaps more of the quran then lagu raya this time round? He he.

Do you have any tip to share with me? Jom share ajr.

Here is a prophecy from the Quran : “The Messenger will say, “My God, my people have deserted this Quran” Surah 25:30 (Wa qaala al rasoolu ya rabbi inna qawmee ittakhathoo hatha al quraana mahjoora).

This may refer to people who ignored the Quran. But if you claim to preach Islam and you don’t even quote one verse from your own Quran, doesn’t that tantamount to the same thing? You are also deserting the Quran.

‎(By the way has anyone been listening to the khutbah in the masjid on Friday? Other than the mechanical recitations, baca doa etc does the khatib ever use even one verse from the Quran as part of his sermon? I doubt it. Another Friday is coming up. Please do listen carefully)

liyas - i have that too. cuma what i meant is to write down yourself the word that you find most intriguing and affects you the most. :)

ruby - and to you too

BF - mana you dapat ramadhan organiser tu? prhaps you can share your programme. it may help the workign mothers with kids too. :)

hansac - pertamanya is the pronoun "you" meant for me?

anyway assuming it is, i must say truly this is my weakness, inability to freely quote either the uran or hadith anytime or anywhere. truly all weakness are form the shaytan and from me myself.

otherwise i am also one of the common masses. neither a student of knowledge nor anyone with any calibre. what I am merely doing is enjoining good. part of what the quran says enjoin good and forbid evil.

At-Tawbah, 9:71, what can be translated as, “The believers, man and woman, are Auliya’ of one another, they enjoin (on the people) Al-Ma’ruf and forbid (people) from Al-Munkar…”

surat Al-Imran, (Verse 104), what can be translated as, “Let there arise out of you a group of people inviting to all that is good (Islam), enjoining Al-Ma’ruf and forbidding Al-Munkar. And it is those who are the successful.”.

and in many other verses. Basically enjoining people to do good in the very little way that I can.

Or should I wait until I can really quote the quran to be able to do so?

However if the pronoun "you" is not meant for me, err who is it really meant for again?

hansac - i tak pernah pergi solat jumaat kat msia. so tak boleh nak comment. but over here, yang i dengar the text are wonderful and they always quote the quran or hadith. sometimes the khutbah itself is about a verse itself.

btw i have always thought deserting the quran eman more leaving the command in the quran yaani disobeying Allah.

may Allah make the Qur'an a light in our heart + an intercessor for us on That Day.

takde benda nak komen, just nak share je - maybe you've listened to this story of mine too - when I did my hajj I used to read the Qur'an at all spare times that I have, especially in the Masjidil Haram. usually we'd go to the masjid a bit early so as to avoid jams (human traffic that is :-)) + get good places. tgh baca Qur'an a group of Arab ladies - possibly from the Gulf, judging by their abaya - sat next to me + began talking + laughing so loudly. I was reading Al-A'raf then, + when I get to ayat 204 you quoted I purposely raised my voice a bit, + repeat the ayat twice, hopefully it would affect them, them being Arabs who would understand what I'm reading, but sadly there was no effect, except to 1 lady who sat next to me who uttered istighfaar. :-( what I'm saying is - language shouldn't be a barrier for you to love the Qur'an, nor being indifferent to it - it's all in your iman + how much do you believe that the Qur'an is Allah's words - The Creator who created you + knows what's good for you + wants nothing but good for you.

may our akhlaq be the Qur'an as was the beloved RasulUllah s.a.w.. ramadhan kareem to you!
